Corrections

This page is the log of record. Corrections land here the day they are made, and a notice is posted at the top of the affected piece. Nothing is quietly edited.

Two logs stay distinct:

Corrections — errors that misrepresent a source: a wrong figure, a misattributed claim, a mischaracterized document.

Refinements — wording that was imprecise but not false. Logged so the record shows what changed and why, without inflating the error count.

How errors get found

Before publication, every figure in a piece is verified against the primary document it comes from — the docket filing, the SEC document, the tariff sheet, the Census table — not against coverage of it. Verification agents assist; the author’s own check is the verification of record. After publication, readers who find an error can write to patilv@gmail.com. Every report gets a response, and confirmed errors are logged here.
